Versace cropped top (Bralette) Version 2

After making my first bra top inspired by Versace bralette. I couldn't let it go. I decided to make a second one that could resemble the original, I have a original Versace silk fabric and I bought black silk crepe for the lining and all the details that are part of the Versace bralette top.

This time I decided to make my own pattern, taking into considerations:

1.- The top has a soft cup, and it only use bra underwire.
2.- The bust pattern do not have 3 parts. It has just two, upper and lower part, the lower part has a dart that helps to get the bust shape.


The front body is one piece, side lapped zipper, no bonning, the back part of the bralette: I have seen two versions, the first version its made of 3 pieces of fabric. Second Version: One piece of fashion fabric.

 I made 5 samples until I was happy with the fitting and shape of the bra cup.

The lining has been interfaced except the lining of the bra cups. I didn't want to interface both lining and fashion fabric bra cups. 
I couldn't find a lace similar to the one use in the Versace bralette top, also I found a bit difficult to understand how it was sew to the top part of the bust cup, my mother-in-Law thinks that the lace were not sewn together with the lining and fashion fabric, but topstitch around the area. If Someone has the original top, could you please tell me how this look like.

My TIBI Skirt version

Hello Everyone.! As the title says this sewing project was inspired by the Silk faille skirt from TIBI. This skirt was a boom between bloggers, in colours red and lime green,  but when I checked the website of TIBI you also can find it in black.  I did'nt have Silk faille fabric but I remember that I did have taffeta which I bought long time ago. So, I decided to sew my own version. The pictures were took at my work place and there was so much wind, it was crazy, but here it is my Tibi skirt version           I dont know how Silk faille fabric behave but I can say that Taffeta is not the best option, it gets wrinkle very easy and you must use something under to avoid static electricity. My Roland Mouret Neon Green Betley Top version

Hei In my fabrics stash I did have some pieces of neon green crepe fabric. I love that color, and I did really want to do a Top with it. So, I managed to do a Top based on the dress from Roland Mouret called Betley, but I didn't have enough fabric for me to  be able to make the front part  in one piece that's why you see the top front part made of two pieces sew together. (Picture 1), the original do not have it. Picture 1   Picture 2   I didn't want the front part to be open in the belly area. I did also a small change in the back.   It's done...!

My Roland Mouret Lush dress version

Hello Long time without making a post. I was on holidays in the sunny Creta. A while ago I bought a medium cotton woven fabric. I dont know how to describe the colour it's like dark fuchsia but not even sure. I did find quite hard to get a nice thread that could match the color of the fabric and even a zipper, so I decided to use black thread for contrasting with the dark fuchsia. The fabric was prewashed, pressed, the grain was squared-off for every piece of the dress to be cut. I must say that this fabric felt heavy during the sewing process. But I managed. I am quite happy with the result.
